Panel discussion of various career paths and issues. Attendees are welcome to ask questions and share experiences after the formal presentations. All forums are videotaped and added to our library collection. All attendees receive a packet of resources to take home.

Susan Ahrens: Washington and Alaska Regional Manger/Adams & Associates
Susan has been with Adams & Associates for fourteen years. During this time, she has worked in nearly all functions and service lines within the staffing industry, including interviewing, hiring and managing a workforce. Currently, Susan oversees a two-state region: Washington and Alaska. During her tenure, Susan has found a true passion for working to develop the careers of her internal employees and helping external job seekers figure out their next best step . She is frequently a speaker on the subject of job searching and how to navigate within the different generations in the workplace. She holds a BA from Duke University.

Tim O’Connor: Corporate Marketing Manager at CampusPoint
Nearly 4 years ago Tim brought his own experience as a small business owner and entrepreneurial zeal to CampusPoint to help further the companies mission: &ldquot;To combine passion with technology to create services that convince more employers to hire more students and recent college graduates, for more types of local jobs, more often.&rdquot; CampusPoint was founded by UW Grads in 2002 and in recent years has been hiring nearly 1,000 students and recent college graduates every year for entry level positions in Business and IT in the Seattle and Portland areas. Tim has been a been a passionate advocate of CampusPoint’s mission and has leveraged his experience to successfully establish a strong brand and presence across all Washington campuses. Armed with a solid understanding of what hundreds of local employers are looking for with their entry level hires, Tim has spoke in front of numerous clubs, organizations, and Career Centers to share what entry level candidates need to know about getting their first job out of college and what it means to choose an employer that will be a good long term fit. He holds an B.A. from UW Business School with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and other job functions include: Print & Graphic Design, Web Development, and Project Management.

Nathan Parcells: Co-Founder and Director of Marketing, InternMatch
Nathan is Founder and Director of Marketing at InternMatch, a technology company that connects students with internships. At InternMatch, Nathan has worked with thousands of local students and businesses leading workshops on how to improve the internship process and has helped grow InternMatch to be Washington’s largest internship resource. Prior to founding InternMatch, Nathan attended the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in Political Science and Economics and graduated Summa Cum Laude. When not working, Nathan enjoys rock climbing and the great Washington outdoors.

Dan Hallak: Career Coach and Outplacement Consultant, NextStep Career Consulting
Dan Hallak is a Northwest native who is driven by his passion for developing the capability of people and watching his clients succeed. His expertise and background is in job searching, career development, recruiting, and organizational effectiveness. He is well experienced in coaching and has partnered with countless students and alumni at local universities and in private practice. He has successfully worked with both young and seasoned professionals of varying age brackets in job searching and personal marketing as well as career transitions and career exploration. In addition to Next Step Career Consulting, he has provided career transition consulting with Right Management, Career Horizons, Bellevue College, Northwest University, and Seattle Pacific University.

Dan’s education includes a Masters Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Seattle Pacific University, a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Northwest University, an Associates degree from Bellevue College, and recognition as an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Over the past few years he has conducted several organizational consulting projects in academia, non-profit, law enforcement, and corporate settings. He is a member of the Puget Sound Career Development Association and a past member of the the Society for Human Resource Management and the Society of Industrial/Organizational Psychologists.
