Carol Vecchio's "Welcome to The Centerpoint Blog"!

The Power of Community and Connection

Community is one of Centerpoint’s Principles of Service. We describe it this way: Change and renewal happen most gracefully within the circle of community. Connectedness provides support, feedback, resources, and shared experiences.

Centerpoint has fulfilled this Principle of Service over the past 17+ years through our workshops and services, LifeWork Library, and retreats, by gathering people in the same physical space. And yet, if we carefully look at this important component of Centerpoint’s vision, we never specifically articulate that Community is required to be face to face.

That’s the beauty of a solid vision: 17 years later it isn’t out of date! It just as much fits in today’s cyber-connected world. While there is true value in being in the same room with others sharing experiences of life and career changes, at Centerpoint we are all very excited about how this blog can expand Community even more broadly.

If you’ve ever attended any of our programs you know that we often share our own stories as well as those of former clients in order to underscore that change is a lifelong, unending process. This also normalizes the transition process so that we all can feel a little less confused and alone. By telling our stories and speaking from a place of compassion for ourselves and others, we can gain new insights about ourselves so we can grow in our lives and our work.

Here’s my personal invitation to you: read the various blog entries by our staff, faculty and board members and share your support, feedback, resources, and experiences. Be inspired by reading the daily blog entries that are posted here, inspire others by telling your unique story, and share the inspiration by letting others know about this blog.

Welcome to the Centerpoint Community!
